Chicago, IL — The YRNF would like to congratulate Speaker Paul Ryan on his primary victory last night in Wisconsin.
Speaker Ryan faced an unorthodox opponent funded with money from outside Wisconsin. Instead of stopping to the lowest levels of campaign tactics, Speaker Ryan waged a campaign of positive ideas and solutions, in the same fashion in which he leads Congress. Speaker Ryan was rewarded by the voters of his district by an overwhelming margin.
Following the Speaker’s win, YRNF Chairman Dennis Cook said, “Speaker Ryan set an example for the rest of us to follow going into November. Instead of attending a victory party tonight, Speaker Ryan held a press conference where he took the opportunity to talk about the Party’s agenda for the fall.”
“Republicans are offering a Better Way to fix this country’s big, pressing problems,” said Speaker Ryan. “This is how we turn this passion of the moment, into a hard won future. Through ideas. Through inspiration. Through inclusiveness. Through an agenda that we can be proud of. Through an agenda that can unite people.”
“Speaker Ryan, first elected to Congress at 28, is proof that Young Republicans are leaders who can truly make a difference for our country,” continued YRNF Chairman Dennis Cook. “We look forward to working with Speaker Ryan and the other office holders and candidates as they embrace the Better Way policy agenda in the fall, and into the next legislating session.”
