August 3- 6 2015, YRNF sent a delegation to attend the International Young Democrat Union Council Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The IYDU is a global alliance of centre-right political youth organisations united by a common desire for greater freedom and less government.
Juventude Democratas (Democrats Youth), youth wing of (Democratas) Democrats Party hosted the event in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most interesting, influential, beautiful, and liveliest cities in the world. Brazil is the largest, most populous, and the epicenter of the Latin American economy.
Young Republicans Jason Emmert (LA) was elected as Chairman of the organization, and Kai Jorgensen (TX) was elected as Secretary General. Rich Counts (DC) was appointed as a member of the Ad-Hoc Caribbean Committee.
#IYDUrio elected a new Executive Board, added seven new member organizations and outlined goals for 2015-2016. IYDU will shortly be announcing upcoming events covering the next six months.
